Time’s Not Up Yet

The ball has dropped, but our countdown is still ticking. The deadline to apply to Luminate’s fifth cohort has been extended through Monday, January 17. Happy New Year!

If accelerating your startup’s growth is on your list of resolutions, Luminate can help. Companies accepted into cohort 5 receive an immediate $100,000 investment, plus the chance to compete for $2 million in follow-on funding. Connect with investors, get critical business development coaching, and change your trajectory for the better.

Applicants are accepted from anywhere in the world and participation in this six-month program is primarily remote, with select weeks in-person for investor pitch opportunities. Space is limited, so apply now. (It’s easy!)

Dynocardia Mohan ThanikachalamOne of the biggest challenges for us is how we miniaturize our technology and make it more commercially viable. Luminate was extremely helpful to show us the path from R&D to product development to commercialization. Three minutes with one of the mentors Luminate provided saved us three months of work.”

      – Mohan Thanikachalam, MD, Founder and CEO, Dynocardia

Layer Metrics Clare MurphyLuminate is very different from other accelerators. The curriculum is critical to any startup company — everything from dealing with human resources issues and planning out your finances to accessing your customers and developing your pitch.”

      – Clare Murphy, CEO, Layer Metrics

Mesodyne Walker ChanWhat Luminate did was help us get out of the academic clean rooms and move to a commercially manufacturable process. This cost reduction will let Mesodyne enter more commercial, consumer markets, which are very cost-sensitive compared to the military and industrial markets that we serve now.”

      – Walker Chan, PhD, Co-Founder and CTO, Mesodyne

Momentum Jeremy GWe were very heavy on the technology side, but we needed help with business development. Luminate offers a master class in how to develop a company from the ground up. If you’re an optics or photonics company, there’s no other accelerator out there that can match what Luminate can do.”

      – Jeremy Goeckeritz, PhD, CEO and Founder, Momentum Optics
