Electrical Systems Engineer

In this multi-disciplinary position, you will be responsible for developing and maturing electronics and automation systems in the design and development of a medical diagnostic Brillouin Spectroscopy device. Your hands-on skills will be an asset in the application of solid electrical engineering and software prototyping skills to rapidly prove out electro-mechanical and electro-optical concepts. The ideal candidate will bring experience controlling a wide variety of devices in order to hit the ground running (e.g. camera, motors, control boards, buttons, joysticks, etc.). Working closely with a team of engineers, consultants, and vendors, you will use your strong product development and design for manufacturing experience to conceptualize product configurations and robust designs for highly sensitive electro-opto-mechanical instrumentation.

Mechanical CAD Engineer

As part of the Mechanical Engineer team, you will be a key contributor to the mechanical design and development of a medical diagnostic Brillouin Spectroscopy system. You will design parts, components, and subassemblies in SolidWorks to bring clinically tested research systems to final marketed product design. Working with vendors and a team of engineers, you will use your strong product development and design for manufacturing experience to conceptualize product configurations and robust opto- and electro- mechanical designs for highly sensitive instrumentation. Your hands-on skills will be an asset in design ideation, generating design specifications, mechanical drawings, assembly procedures, and testing component/assembly performance. The ideal candidate will be a well-rounded engineer that can also contribute in electromechanical considerations around motors, wire routing, power management, cost-reduction, design for manufacturing, etc.

Technician/Production Coordinator

We are seeking an Electronics Technician and Production Coordinator to join our team! In addition to debugging of electronic systems and assembled PCBs, you will coordinate the flow of work and materials between departments as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.

You will work with some of the leading engineers in imaging/camera systems as a peer, developing cutting edge technologies that save lives for fire/rescue, police, defense, and other first-responders. Our company, Bounce Imaging, is an early-stage technology company that has established itself as a leader in advanced systems for the most elite users globally.

Responsibilities:

  • Debug electronics, cameras, and assembled PCBs
  • Do basic soldering and assembly for ECOs (engineering change orders) and prototyping
  • Maintain and improve execution of production assignments
  • Review and distribute supplies and shipments in a timely manner
  • Confer with other departments to determine progress of work and completion dates
  • Compile reports on costs and inventory levels
  • Review and communicate production status reports
  • Serve as point of contact between production and planning teams

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent and 4+ years in a production environment as electronic technician
  • Experience with basic debug and repair tools (soldering, operating a multimeter, calibration of equipment, etc)
  • Previous experience in production, planning, or other related fields
  • Strong project management skills
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask
  • Ability to work well in teams

Nice-to-have but not required:

  • Proficiency with computers (Windows/Linux)
  • Experience with 3D printers
  • Basic coding background

This is a hands-on position. You will be working on-site with our contract manufacturer in Haverhill. You will be responsible for making sure assembly operations are running smoothly.

You will analyze yield issues in board assembly and box assembly, work on improvements, and handle suppliers and logistics. From time to time you will be helping assembly personnel as spare capacity to ensure timely delivery to customers of larger orders.

You will also be responsive for preliminary failure analysis of RMAs and repairs as needed.
